Telehealth involves the use of a digital device such as a computer, tablet phone to provide healthcare services to you. This page provides a general overview of how osteopathy telehealth works.
Telehealth appointments have been shown in many studies to be just as effective as in-person treatment in achieving positive outcomes. But of course, there are a lot of questions about telehealth, what it is and how it all works. So we’ve compiled a list of FAQs for you:
What is Telehealth?
Telehealth is a virtual appointment. It’s just like your normal osteo appointment, but done online using secure video calling software. You can see your practitioner and they’ll be able to see you. You can chat to each other as normal, via your computer, tablet or phone.
What are the benefits of telehealth?
Telehealth is convenient as it can be done in the comfort and privacy of your home whilst following social distancing guidelines.

What to expect from your consultation?
Similarly to face-to-face consults, Telehealth can be used to assess new conditions or to maintain your exisiting treatment program. This may include an in-depth discussion with your osteopath about your condition and demonstrating or having you perform certain movements or other tests. You may also receive advice and education about your condition, prescribed exercises, and a summary of your appointment and treatment plan.
What to do to prepare for your consultation?
We will receive a link with your booking confirmation email. At your appointment time, simply click on the link and the software will open. Try and be somewhere quiet or plug in headphones to minimise background noise. Make sure your room is well lit and set up a safe space on the floor, as your osteopath will spend time running you through some movement patterns during your appointment. For babies and young children, please also have a rattle or toy on hand and your maternal health ‘green’ book.
What are the appointment costs?
The costs can be found via the bookings page on our website. Unfortunately osteopathy consultations via Telehealth are currently not subject to private health rebates.
How do I book an appointment?
